A day full of Fair Trade events with booths of products and guest speakers including Jaqueline DeCarlo author of Fair Trade "Making Fair Trade Work For Business, The Faith Communities and Non-Profit Organizations". Also a soup lunch will be served by the "Tomorrow Project" and come and join us for our share of the world's largest Fair Trade coffee break sponsored by Cafe Moto.

Fair trade film screening sponsored by Amherst Fair Trade Partnership
"Chocolate Country” an inspiring documentary about chocolate growers in the Dominican This 30 minute film won Best Short Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival and is an exciting, positive story set to local Dominican folk music. It will take you into another world and culture and show you where chocolate comes from, how it's grown and prepared, and how you can support a better life for the farmers who grow it. You can read about it and see the trailer at http://www.chocolatecountryfilm.com The director, Robin Blotnick, and the producers, Northampton locals Jill Higgins and Joe Blotnick, will be there to present and discuss the film. Chocolate Country came into being while Jill and Joe were Peace Corps volunteers in the Dominican Republic working with the cacao farmers' cooperative and their film maker son came to visit.

Oxfam America Hunger Banquet
The Service and Leadership in the Community program at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington will be hosting a Hunger Banquet from 12-2pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. This event is meant to bring an understanding of what hunger looks like in the world to the Clark College campus.
